The Ligurian\u00a0Riviera\u00a0<\/strong>has been inhabited\u00a0since the dawn of\u00a0history. Not to be missed is the\u00a0Museum\u00a0of Balzi\u00a0Rossi<\/strong>, along the coast on the border between\u00a0Italy\u00a0and France; it is designed\u00a0around the\u00a0Barma\u00a0Grande<\/strong>,\u00a0 in which \u00a0two\u00a0tombs\u00a0dating back to the\u00a0Paleolithic age\u00a0<\/strong>are\u00a0preserved, while in the adjacent\u00a0museum\u00a0stone sculptures, wall\u00a0carvings\u00a0and many\u00a0stone tools\u00a0<\/strong>that were the accompaniments of everyday life can be found.<\/p>\n An important stop in the discovery\u00a0of local prehistory is the Museo delle Meravigle of Tenda<\/strong>, opened recently, and dedicated\u00a0to the\u00a0rock engravings of the Mount\u00a0Bego\u00a0<\/strong>region.\u00a0 The museum tells the story\u00a0of this heritage<\/strong> out of doors with a permanent collection<\/strong> as well as temporary exhibitions<\/strong>.\u00a0 Of great educational interest\u00a0are the six life-sized dioramas <\/strong>illustrating the life\u00a0of\u00a0pastoral\u00a0peoples\u00a0from the Bronze Age<\/strong>\u00a0to the present day.<\/p>\n From Tenda a\u00a0hike<\/strong> can be planned along the trails\u00a0of the Valle delle Meraviglie<\/strong> which is rich in petroglyphs<\/strong> and provides spectacular and unspoiled scenery.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Educational Excursions: Prehistoric Ligurian Riviera consist of a group of three tours organized by Nyala Wonder Travel that are designed to explore sites of prehistoric history that testify to the earliest human presence in Liguria.
