San Bartolomeo al Mare

We are pleased to invite you to the famous Candelora Fair, held for over 300 years in the area around the Santuario della Rovere, in the municipality of San Bartolomeo al Mare.

The Candelora Fair is the oldest traditional event in Liguria: historically linked to the beginning of the agricultural season, it still maintains its original setup, giving great space to the sale of agricultural tools, livestock, seeds. In recent years, the fair has incorporated, alongside its original structure, stalls of street vendors, thematic areas, events, and attractions for both adults and children.

EXPERIENTIAL PACKAGE
“Fiera della Candelora”

DAY 1: San Bartolomeo al Mare – The Fair

Late morning arrival in San Bartolomeo al Mare for the visit and participation in the event, where you can explore five different themed areas. The fair begins with a traditional market and continues with agricultural and nature-related exhibitions, food and wine stands, livestock and animal farming exhibits, and ends with environmental education booths and educational farms.

At the end of the afternoon, check-in at the selected hotel, followed by dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: The Heart of Liguria – The Hinterland

In the morning, we suggest a wonderful excursion in the Riviera. The first stop is Dolceacqua, where you can stroll beneath the atmospheric ruins of the Doria Castle in a Renaissance setting, continuing through the narrow alleys of the historic center. At lunchtime, enjoy a wine and local product tasting at one of the area’s wineries.

In the afternoon, transfer to the Hanbury Gardens, located in La Mortola: an exotic 18-hectare paradise created in 1867 by Sir Thomas Hanbury, who acclimatized plant species from all over the world, collected during his countless travels.

For true enthusiasts, an olive oil tasting course can be booked on request and scheduled on the first day.
