Whale watching excursions are subject to sea conditions and may be cancelled on short notice. The excursion can usually be rescheduled for the next day, weather permitting, or alternatively you may visit the large dolphinarium in Antibes.
DAY 3: Monte Carlo and the Oceanographic Museum
In the morning, transfer to the Principality of Monaco for a visit to the famous Oceanographic Museum. Inaugurated in 1910 by its founder Prince Albert I, this exceptional museum dedicated to marine sciences hosts numerous preserved marine species as well as models of ships and equipment used by early ocean explorers.
The Aquarium offers visitors a fascinating display of vibrant marine flora and fauna. Rare species of fish from distant seas swim in 90 tanks filled with seawater. You can then continue your visit to the Rock, the old town of the Principality, strolling among artisan workshops and small shops and visiting the beautiful Cathedral of St. Nicholas, built in 1875 from white stone from La Turbie. You may also witness the traditional changing of the guard in front of the Prince’s Palace.
